INTRODUCTION

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) calls to a close the 2016/17 version of the Marten, Barrera, Beiser, Evans, McQuary, Payne Kakistocracy.  Their horrible operational, financial and human resource decisions have produced a “Worst Leadership” school year in the history of the SDUSD

This meeting has the capacity to be much worse than the Board meeting on September 29, 2015 when Trustees Mike McQuary and Richard Barrera presented a Proclamation to honor former Trustee Marne Foster on the same night they approved an investigation into criminal charges by the District Attorney that forced her to resign.

Here are the 5 episodes of “FINAL 2016/17 BOARD MEETING DISASTER DUMP” where we describe how Superintendent Cindy Marten and Trustees Richard Barrera, Kevin Beiser, John Lee Evans, Mike McQuary and Sharon Whitehurst-Payne historically dump at least 5 disasters on all Stakeholders.

And then Marten and her Crony Board will run away and hide until September, hoping we all forget.

Here is the Human Resources Actions Report by Date Range June 28, 2017 to July 11, 2017

This is a typical example of lack of transparency and total obfuscation by the unethical Supt. Marten and her operational inner circle.

Layoffs and terminations are arguably the most critical component of the $124 million Financial Mismanagement Disaster…so what does the unethical and secretive SDUSD Superintendent do?

First Marten, with crony Board Approval hides this critical document as number 38 of 53 items in the last agenda section “I”of the board meeting.

Secondly, Marten buries the impact pact of the layoffs and terminations in a 199 page document with 5,576 “Human Resource Actions”.

Buried in the 5,576 “Human Resource Actions” are the double digit layoffs, retirements with no replacement,  and reductions of hours for Custodians across the SDUSD. This is the approval of what District Deeds Whistleblower “Custodial Crusader” warned us about on 2/3/17 in “The “Horrors” of Custodial Cutbacks“.

With this serious cutback in safety and health support, there will be many schools on a 5 day cleaning schedule at one time or another throughout the 2017/18 school year

That 5 days will allow rats, cockroaches and other pets to carry diseases to our students classrooms and playground areas.

That means that there will be 5 DAYS between cleaning an area contaminated with rotten food, drinks and vermin feces where our Students will eat, sit, play and learn. 

That lost staffing will also remove an extra level of campus security that could allow unauthorized visitors on their campus during and after school hours.

The Marten and the Board just approved two weeks ago, with lots of media propaganda, the “SDUSD School Climate Bill of Rights” (that they never intend to actually implement) where item #1 is the following:

  1. Students, staff, administrators and parents/guardians have a right to a positive, collaborative, healthy, healing school environment.  Schools should strive to be sanctuaries for students and parents/guardians.

Apparently rats and cockroaches combined with rotten food and unauthorized visitors on campus  represent a “healthy, healing school environment” and a “sanctuary” to this totally incompetent, unethical Superintendent and Board of Education.

When your children or school site staff get sick or, heaven forbid, have an unwanted visitor prowling your campus, just remember Supt. Cindy Marten and her crony Board trustees Richard Barrera, John Lee Evans, Kevin Beiser, Mike McQuary and Sharon Whitehurst-Payne who all voted to make it so.
