We wish all of our readers a happy and successful 2022 New Year!
We look forward to bringing you many more in-depth, honest investigations and assessments of the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) in 2022 and, as we say on the “Birth of District Deeds” page:
“And all of this will be “Done Dirt Cheap”. I am not being paid by any donor or bought off by any organization…we can all be a part of the most dangerous group in the United States…the Informed Electorate!”
This week for Sunday Reads we are providing the Top 10 visited and viewed posts for 2021. We want to thank the thousands of readers locally, nationally and internationally who accessed District Deeds this past year.
The following is a countdown to #1 starting with the 10th most visited and viewed District Deeds posts in 2021.
Enjoy!

Maxwell, Montgomery Steppe, Barrera/Payne and the San Diego Union Tribune – What Leadership Model Do YOU Trust?
Key Excerpt:
In this week’s Sunday Reads we address “Leadership” in its many forms in the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) community.
First, as a special feature in this week’s Sunday Reads, we are providing an open letter to the community providing the guidance and leadership of Ms. Francine Maxwell, President of the NAACP San Diego Branch.
We thank Ms. Maxwell for her leadership and service to the SDUSD community and support each and every point she has made in her letter.
Secondly we explore another version of public leadership through an open letter sent by Fourth Council District leader, Councilmember Monica Montgomery Steppe, to the SDUSD Board of Education asking them to answer 12 questions regarding outstanding issues at Lincoln High School. District Deeds posted her letter this past week.
The two letters from community leaders made this an extremely bad week for the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) Board of Education, especially for corrupt Trustees Richard “Tricky Dick” Barrera and Sharon “Flying by the seat of our pants” Whitehurst Payne.
Our third and fourth exploration of leadership comes from the responses of both untrustworthy Trustee “leaders” (Barrera and Payne) to the press about the phantom “achievements” at Lincoln High School and then how the San Diego Union Tribune decided to cover it.

San Diego Union Tribune: Who Is Lamont Jackson? Here is the District Deeds Answer!!!
Key Excerpt:
Improperly assisting a corrupt Trustee and Superintendent to remove a nationally renowned Black Principal (who moved on to LACHSA, a BIGGER nationally renowned Arts High School) and then replace her with a White English teacher that just earned their Administrative Credential less than a year before that Middle School Lamont Jackson termed was “made in the best interest of students.”
This looks like an outright, and obvious, lie.
That core personality trait of Lamont “Middle School” Jackson to go to a nationally recognized newspaper and shamelessly lie to thousands of SDUSD Stakeholders, millions nationwide and to a Reporter like Ms. Taketa when the overwhelming facts show the contrary is the exact same trait that Tricky Dick Barrera saw in Cindy Marten in 2013…the ability to lie convincingly with a smile or a tear.

DISTRICT DEEDS SPECIAL REPORT: Nine #NoMarten Dep. Sec. Nomination Disqualification Factors – Links and Reports
Key Excerpt:
District Deeds received the following report from a confidential source. Please use any and all of the following links and documents to support the #NoMarten effort.
#NoMarten Special Report
In San Diego Unified, under Cindy Marten, there has been a systemic and systematic attempt to suppress negative information about the district so as to support positive narratives. Ms. Marten promotes narratives about the district that give the impression of almost exclusively success by not publicly acknowledging facts that would portray the district in a negative light and by stalling public records requests that would provide information that would somehow tarnish the district’s image (including student outcome data). In fact, the district is still a party in a lawsuit for failure to produce records, some of which have been attempts to refute the narratives (e.g. if the district stalls long enough, the news is stale, and so the truth is never told).

Whistleblower “Inside Unified” 3 Part Series – Part 2: The REAL San Diego Unified School District Grades and Grading Policy
Key Excerpt:
Recently we have watched Superintendent Cindy Marten “leading the charge” on grading reform in San Diego Unified.
Like sending President Biden a sample budget recommendation for public school funding when she couldn’t properly create, staff or manage a budget without reorganizing the staff at board meetings each year, you have to look carefully at whether the publicity stunts and photo opportunities actually translate into action for students.
Grading is another example of data that reveals that when inequities are known and hard work is required to help kids, nothing is done until the moment is advantageous for the superintendent.
Most recently, an announcement was made by SDUSD that they would be changing the grading policy to reflect more equitable practices. Sounds great on the surface but the problem with the San Diego Unified School District “announcements” is that there is always a disconnect between what is said and what is done. It begs the question of whether these announcements are photo ops to pad the resume or if they are actually meaningful efforts to change the conditions, experiences and ultimately outcomes of all students.

District Deeds Eyewitness Report: Lincoln High “Forum” Dog and Pony Show BLOWS UP! Humiliated Coward Trustee Richard Barrera Runs/Hides from Community Questions!
Key Excerpt:
Are you going to answer the questions Barrera?
Barrera did not answer the Mr. Harris, Ms. Daniels, the community or our questions.
Instead the humiliated Barrera quickly escaped with the other 4 female SDUSD Employees out the back door of the meeting room avoiding all attendees, even his uber friendly local reporters that subsequently produced Pro-SDUSD/Lincoln propaganda variations of the meeting in their medium.
The only person left on the dais was City Councilmember Monica Montgomery-Steppe.

22 Questions About the San Diego Unified School District Educational Disaster Created by Supt. Cindy Marten That Need Answers BEFORE She is Approved for Deputy Secretary of Education!!!
Key Excerpt:
Senators and Media,
It was our hope that Biden and his new team would Build Back Better by choosing a vetted group of professionals to lead critical cabinet positions. We aren’t sure who vetted Cindy Marten, but if the message you are trying to send is that photo ops and a focus on “me” takes precedent over the achievement of students you have made the right choice.
Have you asked any questions about this nominee?
(1) Why isn’t anyone asking questions about the deposition Cindy Marten gave regarding the Green Elementary incident? What kind of district leader responsible for the well being of students would say that she wasn’t sure that the oral copulation of a kindergarten student was not serious or a priority? https://districtdeeds.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/marten-depo-gurrieri.pdf

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2021 – INCOMPETENT, UNETHICAL SUPT. CINDY MARTEN LEAVES – SDUSD STAKEHOLDERS ARE: “Free at last. Free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.”!!!
Key Excerpt:
On January 18, 2016, in the midst of the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) dysfunctional educational oppression of all Students, especially Students of color, under incompetent SDUSD Superintendent Cindy Marten and her White Woman Mafia, we published the Dr. Martin Luther King “I Have a Dream” speech.
Little did we know that exactly five years later, on January 18, 2021, the spirit of that dream would be realized in a small way in the thankful departure of the incompetent Marten from our SDUSD.
Although virtually anyone that the SDUSD Board of Education eventually selects for Superintendent will have more credentials than Marten, the SDUSD Stakeholder community MUST DEMAND that they are part of the new Superintendent selection and the Board of Education immediately initiates an exhaustive search for a Superintendent that has all of the required education credentials, senior leadership experience and ethics/morals that have been lacking since Marten was appointed in violation of the Brown Act in 2013.
