District Deeds has received information from reliable sources within the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) that Supt. Cindy Marten has ordered MORE Pink Slips to be delivered to additional employees not reported as a budget “remedy” in the February 28, 2017 Board of Education meeting…and sources say that there are many more to come!
So far the San Diego Unified Propaganda Department has not reported any of these new cuts to San Diego news organization.
District Deeds sources have also specifically verified that Library Assistants from both K-8 and Middle Schools not listed on pages 7, 6 and 9 in the Paraeducator Proposed Elimination document were hurriedly given pink slips yesterday, 4/20/17, with less than 24 hour notice. In the document only Elementary School Library Assistants were listed to be “eliminated”.
This means that up to 32 MORE K-8 and Middle School SDUSD employees may be added to the Supt. Cindy Marten Administration Pink Slip Casualty list…and there are multple reports from our sources that there could be many more position cuts to come, especially in the classified employee segment!
Estimates surrounding the cause of the additional Pink Slips range from a weak response by employees to the SERP to just being another example of financial miscalculation and mismanagement by the same Supt. Cindy Marten regime that caused the SDUSD 2017 $124 million budget disaster scandal in the first place.

This superintendent and board have diverted untold funds to create so many new administrative offices! They acquiesce to the teachers union’s every demand while they ignore our children’s educational needs. This has proven tragically ineffective and wasteful, but neither one will take responsibility and change course . We need a new superintendent and a new board of education who will truly put students, parents and communities first.
