In the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) Board of Education Meeting this past Tuesday, March 13th, Superintendent Cindy Marten rolled out her LCAP propaganda extravaganza via a 62 page PowerPoint.

The exact description of LCAP Goal 4 in the propaganda document is as follows:

LCAP Goal 4: Positive School Environment, Climate, and Culture, with Equity at the
Core and Support for the Whole Child

The presentation cover was filled with happy, smiling faces of SDUSD Students, (two of which have portions of their heads cut off due to horrible photo editing) approved by WAY overpaid SDUSD Senior management making 6 figure salaries.

The cover picture with partially beheaded students on the official 62 slide LCAP Goal 4 Propaganda Powerpoint document is truly illustrative of the degree that Supt. Cindy Marten and her Board of Education Trustee Cronies actually DON”T support the “Whole Child”…and “behead” students education and health with their poor budget management decisions.

Initially we were hesitant to use the cover in our blog…we didn’t want to injure by association with Marten any innocent students merely for posing for a SDUSD picture.

But then we discovered the truth.

The picture is NOT of any of the 120,000 SDUSD students…it is a fake…just like LCAP PowerPoint because of a core flaw in its “Care and Support of the Whole Child” logic.

As for the photo, it is really a “mixed races in school” stock photo..shown below in a Google Search.

Apparently the “mixed races” Students in the SDUSD were just not photogenic enough to use for “Spokesmodel” Cindy!

But surprisingly the biggest lie and core flaw we discovered was NOT the fake photo in the LCAP Goal 4 Propaganda document.

The core LCAP 4 flaw is a simple question:

What WAS NOT mentioned in the SDUSD LCAP Goal 4 Document?

We learned this SDUSD truth discovery trick from reviewing many district documents, especially public ones that expose the rotten core of the current leadership…like the annual “State of the District” coverup and the ridiculously inaccurate Cindy Marten Evaluations.

In the 2018 LCAP document, the SDUSD minimally referred to the California “Healthy Kids Survey“, so District Deeds decided to investigate the survey in depth for ourselves.

We discovered some telling differences between what the Survey provided and what the SDUSD included in the PowerPoint presentation.

The work “clean” is NOT MENTIONED in the SDUSD document while in just the “Secondary” California 2016/17 Healthy Kids Survey for SDUSD, “clean” was mentioned a 12 TIMES!!!

District Deeds QUESTION:

Are classrooms and common areas cleaned every 6 or 7 or even 8 days a “Positive Environment” for the “Whole Child”?

District Deeds ANSWER:

Of course not!!!

The word “health” was also NOT MENTIONED in the SDUSD document while in just the “Secondary”  California 2016/17 Healthy Kids Survey for SDUSD  it was mentioned a whopping 70 TIMES!!!

Another fact NOT included in the SDUSD report…Only 38% of secondary students answered “agree” or “strongly agree”  to the question  “My school is usually clean and tidy.”…and that was in 2017 BEFORE Marten and Richard “Tricky Dick” Barrera, Kevin “Dismissal with Prejudice” Beiser, John “You Can’t Handle the Truth” Evans, Michael “Foggy Bottom” McQuary and Sharon “Flying By The Seat of Our Pants” Payne laid off many of the Custodial, Landscaping and Food Service employees this year. 

To totally ignore the need to protect Student health against filthy, vermin infested school site environments through adequate custodial staffing and deep cleaning by those professionals is just another typical Elementary School Superintendent Cindy Marten oversight blunder that could have dangerous health repercussions for all Stakeholders and visitors to filthy school district locations.

This horrible decision by Marten and the Board totally undercuts ALL the recommendations in their LCAP Goal 4 document because if Students and Staff get sick from the filthy school site conditions, they will not be in school to receive the services and protections they propose. 

We can only hope that the Marten and senior leadership decision to ignore school site site cleanliness and health needs of the “Whole Child” will not lead to illness epidemics across the SDUSD Students, Teachers. Families, Staff and other Stakeholders.

If that unthinkable condition occurs, and any student, staff or visitor becomes seriously ill, the responsibility for that disaster will be squarely on the shoulders of Marten and her cronies.
