District Deeds had every intent to attend the FULL San Diego Unified Board Meeting last Tuesday, June 9, 2015. We actually went, but only lasted until 7:30 p.m. – just 2 1/2 hours into the 7 HOUR MEETING.
We did view most of the remainder of the meeting that night in our office and then reviewed the full meeting multiple times over the last 6 days. We tried to come up with ways to describe the MANY decisions, delusions, irregularities and odd occurrences from the meeting but, barring a post in the thousands of words that would put you to sleep, we decided to “DISMEMBER” the meeting into 5 parts plus an Introduction (what you are reading now) and an Epilogue summarizing our observations and conclusions.
We put the meeting in 7 “digestible” pieces that could be consumed at your own pace.
We will do our best to dissect the meeting and try to identify the examples of SDUSD Senior District Leadership Morality Mortality…the mortality of SDUSD Collaboration and Transparency…the mortality of Stakeholder (Parent, Teacher, Student, Staff, Administrator, Counselor, etc.) Trust in the SDUSD Superintendent Marten, the Area Superintendents and the Board of Education and replacing those cornerstone components with TOTAL STAKEHOLDER DISILLUSIONMENT and MISTRUST.
The five Installments along with this Introduction and a Final Summary will be posted over the next week or so.
Stay tuned…this will be quite a ride!
