With an Invisible Man Interim Superintendent and a demonic Puppet Master Board of Education President the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) “leadership” is truly horrifying.

Today Sunday Reads features an article from a Columbus Distpatch guest columnist who is also a State Senator in the Ohio legislature.  The Senator describes the recent National School Boars Association letter to the Biden administration that describes parents who aggressively protest school board actions as participants in “domestic terrorism”.

We searched for a similar article by a local San Diego news source but apparently the fear of retribution through refused reporter access from the SDUSD was too scary and intimidating to deal with by local reporters.

So scary…and so sad…for independent local journalism.

Parents have every right. Opposing school boards is not ‘domestic terrorism’

As parents and American citizens, we have the First Amendment right to assemble, speak freely and petition our government, including local school boards, on any topic.

Whether seeking relief from universal mask mandates, opposing critical race theory indoctrination or addressing other issues affecting our children’s education, parents should feel confident in their constitutional right to speak their opinions.

Sadly, the National School Boards Association, without approval from any state boards of education, recently “petitioned” the federal government’s law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice and FBI, to abridge these constitutional rights.

The Sept. 29 National School Boards Association letter relies on selective and biased media reporting rather than actual indictments or convictions to request that “federal law enforcement” deal with what they claim to be “growing threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across this nation.”

The national association suggests these acts, which they describe as “domestic terrorism,” provide justification to employ the Patriot Act against parents who are exercising their First Amendment rights.

The lack of any direct evidence of threats or harassment by parents when addressing school boards is a clear sign that this has nothing to do with domestic terrorism.

Rather, the left is attempting to further divide this country by launching a cultural war and using intimidation to silence those who do not agree with their liberal agenda.

Within five days of receiving the National School Boards Association letter, the Biden administration’s attorney general, Merrick Garland, directed the FBI to work with U.S. attorneys and meet with federal, state and local leaders to “facilitate the discussion of strategies for addressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers and staff and open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment and response.” 

DISTRICT DEEDS SYNOPSIS:

A single sentence from State Senator Roegner perfectly describes the scope of Stakeholder influence over the corrupt SDUSD senior leadership:

Parents can effect change primarily in two ways: electing school board members who represent their core values and exercising their First Amendment right to freely address their local school boards. 

The situation in the SDUSD elections has been even worse.

With city-wide elections for the SDUSD School Board skewing results to the highest financial bidder,  Parents, Students and Families have been last in line when it comes to fair and equal representation.  When you add the inherent and systemic racist SDUSD board/leadership and unfair retribution to SDUSD employees to the flawed election process, the SDUSD has been and educational disaster for ALL Students and employees n the last 8 years.

The good news is that the law for SDUSD school board elections was changed from “city-wide” to “area” in the 2020 election.

Bad news is that the same corrupt SDUSD Board of Education is in office for another 2+ years.

Obviously any violence or threats of violence against anyone are abhorrent, should NEVER be allowed and strongly prosecuted if they occur.  But the right to vehemently use your voice to expose SDUSD poor decisions, corruption and misdeeds publicly is FREE SPEECH!  At District Deeds we fully embrace that right.

Unfortunately the California State School Board Association apparently agrees with the outrageous and anti-parent/student stance of the NSBA.

An organization called Parents Defending Education posted “State School Board Associations’ Responses to the NSBA Letter” that contains the following State School Board information:

 

The California School Board Association (CSBA) is nowhere to be found.

But after reviewing the CSBA website to see their stance on Parents as Domestic Terrorists, we found something else on the School Boards in Action page

 

That’s right.

A propaganda “On Video: Board Member Stories”  presentation filled with distortions and lies by corrupt liar Trustee “Tricky Dick” Barrera highlighting the recent “Summer of Learning and Joy” scam we exposed on July 11, 2021:

In that Sunday Reads post titled “The San Diego Unified School District Summer School Scam Translated!” we said:

The SDUSD received MILLIONS of dollars from the State and Federal government for educational Covid relief including summer school.  Barrera and the Board of Education took advantage of the neediest SDUSD communities via a very simple “Learning and Joy” propaganda scam.  A scam that gives $31 million to a bunch of Non-Profit cronies for “enrichment” programs with no published educational requirements or metrics…a watered down version of summer school.

Based on the CSBA decision to NOT take the same action as Ohio and other states to withdraw from the NSBA, the CSBA is obviously all about everything that the corrupt liar “Tricky Dick” Barrera stands for which is:

Any Stakeholders, including employees, who strongly voice and expose SDUSD poor decisions, corruption and misdeeds publicly ARE domestic terrorists.

What more could we expect from an organization that uses Barrera as a spokesmodel?
