Nine months ago on New Years Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023, District Deeds made the 2023 “HAT Trick” New Years Resolution for holding the San Diego Unified School District to the reasonable, justifiable, and critical standard of Honesty, Accountability and Transparency:

Since that time we have provided our readers the Hat Trick Handbook for Uniform Complaints and spent Summer, 2023 breaking down the three components with documented proof of horrible SDUSD performance.

Two weeks ago on August 27, 2023 we launched a new initiative in our post titled “2023/2024 – District Deeds 10th School Year…NEW “Speak Your Truth” Posting Opportunity for ALL SDUSD Stakeholders!!!” we asked for the real life experiences of San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) Parents, Teachers, Students, Staff and Taxpayers.

Here is the “Speak Your Truth” initiative definition from that post:

“Speak Your Truth” has apparently struck a nerve for SDUSD Teachers, Staff, Parents and Students and given us additional insight into the deep fear of SDUSD retribution by employees in the toxic SDUSD work environment.

It has BLOWN UP!!!

Almost all of the messages we received came with a caveat of 100% confidentiality.  The fear of retribution from the highest levels of SDUSD and Union Senior Management has elicited a strong “fight or flight” response from those honest Stakeholders, many of which are planning on moving their kids or their job to a Charter school or another district as soon as possible.

Evidence of this family and employee erosion of trust can be easily found in the continual and dramatic drop in SDUSD enrollment and desperation of the SDUSD to fill open positions well into the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year.

We want to thank those many Stakeholders that reached out to us via email, text and phone to share their experiences within the SDUSD, proven to be one of the most dysfunctional school districts in California, and perhaps in the United States.

For an employee who has worked toward their pension in the SDUSD for many years or a poor family that cannot afford transportation or access to a school outside of the SDUSD, the SDUSD and the associated Unions are a virtual monopoly (from Oxford Dictionary):

Almost all the stories that came to us verified how, through a $1.4 billion dollar budget and a corrupt “Quality Assurance” process that reports to a multi-million dollar, taxpayer supported, legal staff of both in-house and hired gun lawyers, the SDUSD MONOPOLY has been able to effectively crush the educational, civil and workplace rights of Teachers, Staff, Parents and Students.

One of the most shocking areas we discovered is how Teachers and other union employees are betrayed and abandoned by the very union organizations that they pay dues to every month.

Let’s set this subject straight.

District Deeds believes that ALL individuals that work for the corrupt and powerful SDUSD MUST have a union for their overall employment protection.  A powerful, well funded, public entity with massive legal representation like the SDUSD MUST be countered by an equally powerful Union to uphold the rights of workers.

But our conversations, emails and texts with SDUSD union employees tell a different story on the ground.

Although the SDUSD Unions do an admirable job in securing pay increases, there seems to be collateral damage on who and when they actually represent the individuals paying them dues each month.  In this case the collateral damage is the abandonment of union workers by the very unions charged with representing them.

Without being specific for fear of exposing our brave SDUSD employee contacts, there is a method of abandoning SDUSD union employees when the overall cost of negative exposure to the corrupt SDUSD senior management could be realized.

In other words, the employment life of an individual union employee means nothing to the SDUSD or the Union if Honesty, Accountability and Transparency (the District Deeds HAT Trick) would expose both organizations as self serving financial and power hungry frauds.

Those dedicated employees are just relegated to “collateral damage” defined below from Wikipedia:

A key strategy of both the SDUSD and the Unions is the use of “Confidentiality” to prevent the scope and scale of the SDUSD violations to be uncovered with the collateral damage of Students, Families and Teachers.  To the CORRUPT SDUSD and Unions, paraphrasing the definition above:

such damage is not unlawful as it is not excessive in light of the overall FINANCIAL and POLITICAL advantage anticipated from the COVERUPS, LIES and EDUCATIONAL NEGLECT.

Every Teacher, Parent and Student are blanketed under the false sense of “confidentiality” allowing the SDUSD and Union leadership to treat widespread educational, civil  and workplace rights violations as an EXCEPTION caused by that individual rather than the standard operating procedure rule to cover up widespread corruption against ALL SDUSD Stakeholders.

The deployment of these corrupt strategies by the SDUSD and some Union leadership brings us back to the key fact we presented at the beginning of this post:

Evidence of this family and employee erosion of trust can be easily found in the continual and dramatic drop in SDUSD enrollment and desperation of the SDUSD to fill teaching and other open positions well into the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year.

ALL of this information has inspired us to help ALL SDUSD Stakeholders, including Union Employees, to fight back socially and legally in every possible way.

It has also inspired us to use District Deeds as a vehicle to share their stories, when possible, to let others being abused know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

Do your part in making the SDUSD better for ALL Stakeholders, especially Students and SDUSD Employees.

WE urge ALL SDUSD Stakeholders to “SPEAK YOUR TRUTH” to power

Send your stories to:

districtdeeds@gmail.com

Together this FULL Honesty, Accountability and Transparency through your real life experiences will force the SDUSD and Unions to face the facts and be forced to fully enable the Educational and Workplace success for ALL SDUSD Stakeholders!!!

For this most important subject we are providing THREE quotes of the week to highlight the three concepts of FULL Honesty, Accountability and Transparency for those brave SDUSD Stakeholders willing to “Speak Your Truth” for the 2023/2024 school year.

Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom. – Thomas Jefferson

There is a price to pay for speaking the truth. There is a bigger price for living a lie.  – Cornel West

I have said to you to speak the truth is a painful thing. To be forced to tell lies is much worse. – Oscar Wilde
