NATIONAL and LOCAL MAGAZINE/NEWSPAPER/BLOG NEWS/POSTS

Given the constant begging for money in every election from the financially incompetent and self serving corrupt SDUSD, we chose a refreshing article from Michigan, a Democrat “blue” state (since 2000 per 270TOWIN), showing how a school district can actually help fund construction bond proposals without raising taxes.   Unfortunately for SDUSD Stakeholders, a pre-prerequisite of this strategy by the Grand Rapids Public Schools District (GRPS) is that they actually keep the community in mind rather than pandering to special interest unions, construction companies and other political donors like the current “paid off” SDUSD Board of Education we described last week in Sunday Reads Summer Edition.

DD NOTE:  We are not claiming that taxpayers will not have to pay the same amount for a longer period…in the GRPS they will.  The main difference is that a cap has been established with this GRPS “consolidation loan” to prevent the practice of ADDING to the tax burden every few years like the SDUSD.

We have highlighted key phrases in the article…SDUSD Stakeholders/Taxpayers:

DD NOTE: NO NEW TAXES!!!  A concept totally ignored by the SDUSD during the corrupt 15 years of Trustee Richard “Tricky Dick” Barrera’s self serving political/financial regime.

DD NOTE:  Very similar to the distribution on the $11.5 BILLION SDUSD Bond Proposals as listed on the district website: since Tricky Dick was elected:

DD NOTE:  Obviously we cannot vouch for the GRPS performance from a single news article but we can easily vouch for no new taxes with the currently outrageous California cost of living increases that are driving families out of the state.
DD TIP:
GRPS uses the same “BOARD DOCS” as the SDUSD so navigation to the meetings is very similar.  Here is the agenda item on the GRPS Board Docs and a link to the actual proposal:
For readers who would like to view this GRPS Board Meeting from Monday, July 17, 2023 at 3:30 pm PT here is the GRPS YouTube Link.  We do not know if this is a live stream event but we believe that the meeting will eventually be posted on YouTube:
