Congratulations San Diego Unified Superintendent Cindy Marten!!!

In a startling development, San Diego Unified School District Superintendent Cindy Marten has been named “National Superintendent of the Year”!

SDUSD Supt. Marten provided the following statement to the press regarding the honor:

“I knew when I accepted the SDUSD Superintendent position 3 years ago I was destined for greatness.  This award proves I am the epitome of the “Work Hard” motto I stole from Kipp Charter Schools.”

Marten and Barrera

SDUSD Board President Richard Barrera added:

“San Diego Unified Superintendent Cindy Marten has fulfilled everything we anticipated when we violated the Brown Act and appointed her in secret session without any stakeholder input.  She has been pliable, unethical and completely self serving as expected.  I predict the SDUSD Board of Education will give her a contract extension this summer despite her numerous management blunders, the current $124 million financial disaster and the 1,700 layoffs she has created through her mismanagement and incompetence.  All I can say is “Well Done”!”

  2. Wow!! That is so crazy!!! I just got back from the California Association of Bilingual Educator (CABE) Conference and San Diego Unified was pretty much missing from the map. No San Diego County School Districts were recruiting excellent Multiple Subject BCALD. and Single Subject Spanish teachers like myself, but excellent school Fistricts like Palmdale were. I attended CABE thanks to DELAC and MONROE Clark Middle School. I have21 years faithfully serving all students in San Diego City Schools and in August 13, 2016 I get a letter freno SDUSD Human Resources Darin Noyes saying that “we are looking for the highest standard in visiting teachers. We (SDUSD) will no longer be needing your services based on your performance, work history and relations with district staff. Good luck in the future!” All because of Cindy Martin and her friends that don’t want strong teachers and parent advocates that question and challenge their mismananagenent of $124.4 million dollars. Yet I come back to here that she has gotten an outstanding “Superintendent Award” after driving our district to the ground. Teacher, staff, parent and community morale is dragged to the ground by the more than one thousand layoff “pink slip notices that the district issued to teachers, principals, vice-principals, Soecial Education staff, occupational therapists, counselors, English Learner Support Teachers……, There is definitely something wrong and Superintendent Martin should not have gotten that award. Instead people need to fill out the petition in District Deeds asking for her resignation or firing As soon as possible. Wake up people and stand up for our District students, parents and staff. Go to every SDUSD Board meetings and tell them they are not doing what is best for our students, parents, staff and community. We need to unite and make our voices heard!!! “YES We CAN!!!! Si SE PUEDE!!!!” #Fire Superintendent Cindy Martin and the incompetent School Board Members!!!
